Interior Design Colors

To simply ask: “What’s your favorite color?” isn’t sufficient for the interior designer. Each member of the family should provide information regarding his or her color tastes. It’s as important to know a person’s reaction to all colors as it is to know his or her favorites.
Colors in a person’s surroundings affect him or her. We all see colors differently. Moreover, we all have personal associations with certain colors that incline us to like or dislike them. One person may like a lot of green in his city apartment because the color reminds him of the woodsy rural area where he once lived happily. Another person dislikes green intensely. She may not know why. If she really thought about it, she might say that during childhood someone told her green was a bad luck color. Another example might be that a neighbor’s home caught on fire after it was painted green, to name something extreme.
According to some researchers, reactions to interior design colors in one’s daily environment affect people’s emotions, psychological well-being, and even physical health. So it’s extremely important to consider every family member’s color reactions. No color that’s disliked by any family member should be used in decorating rooms used by all members.
